Dean Frederick B. Wenn
1925-1928
Fred “Freddie” Wenn, a popular Georgia Tech management professor, became dean of the Evening School of Commerce in 1925. Wenn started a major recruiting campaign for the school, soliciting recommendations from school superintendents who had bright, driven students who couldn’t afford to finance a college education. Wenn helped these students find good daytime jobs with businesses in downtown Atlanta so they could attend the Evening School.
Wenn’s successful efforts meant another jump in enrollment numbers and another move for the institution. In 1927, the Evening School moved into six rented rooms on downtown’s Forsyth Street, where it remained until 1931.
