Dear Panther Family,
We have so much great momentum at GSU, and I am grateful for all you do to contribute to our shared success. Our BluePrint to 2033 is well underway, and your dedication and hard work are driving its progress. I'm pleased to provide you with an important update.
Now that we have completed the first academic year into our initial 20 strategic plan initiatives, we are pleased to be able to report on several of our first-year outcomes. We have officially launched the Metrics section of the Strategic Plan Initiative Progress Report — a dynamic new resource now available at https://strategic.gsu.edu/university-wide-metrics. This report, which is a crucial tool in our journey toward the BluePrint to 2033, outlines key initiatives, targets and university metrics, and will be updated to reflect our progress.
The site is interactive and comprehensively shares two distinct levels of metrics. The first level includes university-wide metrics that track our progress at the highest level in the areas of growth, success, research, philanthropy, career and engagement. You will notice that some of our metrics are naturally recorded at the end of the fiscal year (e.g. engagement and career) and you will see those populated by the fall.
The second level includes metrics specific to the 20 strategic plan initiatives currently underway. This section showcases the progress on each initiative that contributes to our overall success. Dr. Cynthia Lester, associate provost for Strategic Initiatives, will regularly update the initiatives' progress throughout the year.
When we measure what is important, we ensure that all the hard work happening across our university leads to real results and keeps us focused on what is most important. These measurements also give us a chance to celebrate our successes and learn along the way, and help us keep building momentum and ensuring that everything we do moves Georgia State forward — together.
In addition, we are leveraging Cascade, a robust strategy execution tool, to track our work across colleges and units. Cascade allows us to monitor outcomes in real time, measure impact with precision and ensure that every initiative remains aligned to the priorities of BluePrint to 2033. Georgia State is gaining ground quickly thanks to your passion, dedication and collaboration.
I want to thank Provost Nicolle Parsons-Pollard; L. Jared Abramson, executive vice president and chief operating officer; Jo Ann Herold, vice president for Public Relations and Marketing Communications; Erik Lauffer, chief institutional effectiveness officer; Cynthia Villaverde, vice president for Financial Planning and Operations; Marion Fedrick, executive vice president for Administration and Chief of Staff; and Dr. Lester for their leadership in supporting the Metrics section of the strategic plan. I also want to give a special thanks to Cody Benson, senior director of Digital Strategy, and his team for creating and designing a site that brings visual life to the progress of BluePrint to 2033.
In the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to sharing timely updates as we continue our journey together — with purpose, pride and momentum.
All the best,
