Dear Panther Family,
Welcome to the start of an exciting Fall semester at Georgia State University! I hope your summer break left you feeling recharged and ready for the new academic year.
Let me take a moment to share what’s in store for you here at Georgia State, from a sure-to-be exciting Football season to new initiatives, and everything in between.
Panther Welcome Week
There’s no better way to kick off the semester than with Panther Welcome Week. This week is packed with activities designed to help you settle in, make new friends, and immerse yourself in the vibrant GSU community. Check out all this week’s events.
Panther Football
I’m thrilled that our new head football coach, Dell McGee, is a part of the Panther Family. Coach McGee brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the game that promises to lead our team to new heights.
A Panther Football game is more than just another sports event. It’s an opportunity to come together as a university, bond over school spirit, meet new people, cheer for our football team, and truly feel like a part of the Panther family.
Mark your calendars for our first game of the season at Georgia Tech on Saturday, August 31st at 8 PM. And don’t miss our first home game on Saturday, September 7th at 7 PM at Center Parc Stadium. Let’s pack the stands and support our Panthers!
Looking Ahead
GSU is making significant strides to take the university to the next level. We are in the implementation phase of our strategic plan, Blueprint to 2033, which is further enhancing your educational and career opportunities.
Additionally, I’m incredibly proud of the progress made on our latest major project, the GSU Blue Line. The GSU Blue Line is set to transform the way students, faculty, and staff navigate our Atlanta campus and engage with the surrounding community. For more information about the GSU Blue Line, read the full article, “The New, Blue Campus Connector” from Georgia State University Magazine and stay tuned for more updates as this project progresses.
Let’s make the 2024-2025 academic year one to remember!
All the best,
