Dear Panther Family,
In April, we shared the news of the departure of Andrea Jones, vice president for Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC), to embark on her next exciting journey at the University of North Florida. While it's a bittersweet moment for us, we take immense pride in Andrea's remarkable contributions to our institution. Andrea has left an indelible mark on GSU, and we’re confident she'll continue to excel and carry with her the Panther spirit.
As we prepare for the next phase of PRMC, I have appointed Jo Ann Herold as interim vice president for the division. Jo Ann is an expert-in-residence in Georgia State's J. Mack Robinson College of Business and teaches global strategic marketing for the Executive MBA program. Jo Ann has served on the GSU Marketing Roundtable for 20 years. She works closely alongside Dr. Denish Shah and, together, they have increased the GSU Marketing Roundtable's membership by more than 30 percent and co-chaired the successful Future of Marketing Conferences and the Max Awards. Jo Ann has held leadership roles as the chief marketing officer for The Honey Baked Ham Company, global chief marketing officer for Interface Inc. and vice president of Brand and Communications at Arby’s Restaurant Group. It’s clear that Jo Ann will add a unique perspective to our already high-performing PRMC division.
Over the next few months, she will focus on how PRMC can best support various GSU departments and the goals of our strategic plan, Blueprint to 2033. Jo Ann and the PRMC team will want to hear from university partners about how they can continue to build stronger relationships and develop even better strategic communications.
Your feedback is invaluable to us as we develop the profile for the next leader of PRMC and identify the search committee. We value your insights and believe they will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the division. More information about the national search for the vice president for PRMC will be forthcoming. The goal is to immediately begin the search and fill the position in the fall.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work closely with Jo Ann and leverage her expertise as we continue to propel the growth of our university. Her leadership and strategic vision will undoubtedly contribute to our collective success. Please take the opportunity to welcome her to the community as she assumes this role through the summer months.
I hope you have a productive and refreshing summer.
All the best,
