Dear Panther Family,
The inaugural Atlanta Michelin Guide Ceremony was a great night for Georgia State and the city of Atlanta. For a restaurant, becoming one of more than 16,000 restaurants to earn the prestigious Michelin Guide rank, is a tremendous achievement. These outstanding restaurants draw food enthusiasts from around the world. This influx of tourists can significantly boost the local economy, which is a major win for the entire community!
I was incredibly proud that our campus was selected to host this wonderful event at our Rialto Center for the Arts. Also, three Michelin Guide Restaurants are located in the Summerhill community, near our South Downtown campus. This is yet another wonderful example of what Identity, Placemaking, and Belonging means to Georgia State. GSU will continue to elevate our brand to become nationally recognized as a vibrant first-choice destination that promotes belonging, community, and creative activities for all in an inviting, accessible, sustainable, and safe environment.
Additionally, I want to congratulate two GSU alumni who had their restaurants recognized. Fares Kargar (B.B.A. '13) is the Owner of Delbar. And Grace Renshaw (B.B.A. '18) is the General Manager of the Claremont Hotel and previously managed Tiny Lou’s within the Claremont. They both graduated from Georgia State’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration. I look forward to GSU hosting many more exciting and engaging events on our campus in the near future.
All the best,
