To our Panther Family,
Earlier today I sent a message to Georgia State students, faculty, and staff. This message was in response to our community’s reaction to today’s Supreme Court ruling striking down affirmative action programs at the nation’s universities.
As you know, Georgia State is incredibly proud to be one of the most diverse institutions in the country, graduating more African American undergraduates than any other university in the United States. Our diversity defines us and we are a better institution for it. We are home to more than 50,000 students from incredibly diverse backgrounds. Nothing will change that! For GSU, race or ethnicity is not a determining factor in our admissions process. We appreciate that our community views us as the first choice for so many students of color each year, and know that we will continue to set the tone and pace for graduating a diverse student body that will continue to change our city, our nation and the world.
