Great news! I’m incredibly proud to share that Georgia State University recently received the prestigious Senator Paul Simon award for Comprehensive Internationalization. This is the university’s second national award for international initiatives within a year. The Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that are making significant, well-planned, well-executed, and well-documented progress toward comprehensive internationalization, especially those using innovative and creative approaches.
The Simon award is the most coveted award for internationalization within higher education. Our proposal was written with an emphasis on inclusive engagement across campus constituents, the Atlanta community, and international partners. Our approach prioritizes access and is embedded with a culture of innovation, and with access at the heart of global initiatives, the university proudly develops global skills and opportunities for all.
