Dear Panther Family,
Being the largest university in the State of Georgia just a few blocks from the State’s Capitol Building, it was truly an honor to host the Gubernatorial Inauguration Ceremony, last week. Of course, the magnitude of this event represented a perfect opportunity to show off GSU’s new 8,000 seat Convocation Center.
GSU has always been a great partner to the State. As one of the most diverse universities in the Country, GSU continues to provide elevated opportunities for our students—A large majority of whom originate from the State of Georgia, but many others from beyond the State and Nation.
It was an honor to provide both welcome and congratulations to Governor Brian Kemp to open the ceremony. The State of Georgia, through Kemp’s administration, has supported our Pillar of Student Success through support of the valuable student financial resources, our Pillar of Innovation in the building of our research towers, and also our College-to-Career Pillar through the support of career-focused programs, such as the recent contribution to the Dental Hygiene Program at our Perimeter College-Dunwoody Campus.
In addition to more future events in our Convocation Center, I look forward to many more partnerships with our elected legislators, particularly as we all work even harder to support our great state!
All the best,
