Laura Voisinet, educator and advocate, is Georgia State University’s chief ambassador. She is dedicated to advancing Georgia State’s status as an enterprising urban public research university and national leader in graduating students from diverse backgrounds. On the national level, Voisinet serves on the executive board of the Council of Presidents Spouses of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities, promoting best practices and exchanges among partners of public university CEOs. In fall 2012, she joined distinguished Georgia State alumnae and scholars to introduce the university’s Women’s Philanthropy Initiative. She serves on the boards of the Theatrical Outfit, the Rialto Center for the Arts and the Virginia-Highland Civic Association. She is on the Georgia State Library Ambassador Board and was Honorary Co-Chair of Project Healthy Grandparents’ 20th Anniversary Luncheon. She travels regionally and internationally on mission work for Habitat for Humanity and Heifer International. Voisinet, a first-generation college graduate, earned a B.S. degree in mathematics from Towson University, an M.S. in mathematics from Virginia Tech and an M.A. in statistics from Pennsylvania State University.
